A Love Letter to My Layoff

Dear Layoff,

We’ve only just met, but I know it’s fate. You’re not at all what I expected, but in a weird way, you might be just what I’ve needed.

You have the capacity to hurt me and so many others like me (and really, you already have), but I appreciate you anyway. Whether you know it or not, you bring promise, opportunity, and my favorite: freedom.
